OMG...Is the world really this crazy?

Mon Jan 21, 2008, 9:01 PM
So my girl Britney is crazy...Who would've guessed? I can't say it will make me stop listening to "gimme more," in fact, it will only make me want to see her go on tour. Phat chance, I know.

Anyways, now more about me. I haven't been painting. Sorry. I have been dreaming about painting, which is really weird. I've painted two pictures in my dreams and I figure I need to just take a day to paint what my subconscious has already painted. It's nice to know that my subconscious has time to do the things it likes to do.

In my dreams, I am painting a very large picture, like a full size of Arches, with watercolors that are nothing more than pigment in cups. Its messy and more like body painting...which sounds extremly erotic, I know, but I think it means more that I should just give myself over to this art form and stop thinking my way through my paintings. Ah...I should read my "Artist Way" book again and remember to embrace the child side of my creativity and stop being a critic before I even start painting.

So, I need lots of plastic and a large board and plenty of water, cups and pigment...oh, and a hair net...are you art geeks getting steamy yet? Check back later...if you're lucky I may have photos....hehehe... Yeah, like you guys ever are lucky...only if you were Britney Spears paparazzi would you be so lucky...She at least invites them over for drinks and to see her divorce and restraining order memorabilia. Sure beats the same old family photos...You go girl...

So, get lost... I need my sleep.

Forget the COACH bag... I want a criminal record

Title: "Forget the COACH bag... I want a criminal record"

Okay…so I remember talking to a friend of mine and I agreed to help her with setting up her classroom for the next school year, which started August 13th here. That was sometime ago and I just now realized that September is like soon; more like SATURDAY! My question is…WHERE THE HELL DID AUGUST GO?

Well, to my defense, I did start back to school at Arizona State this semester while trying to keep my day job, playing with my puppy and my husband and just keeping up on my homework. If at all possible, I’m looking for more hours in my day. I may be able to buy a few…but I’m not beneath just out right “thievery” (I love that word. It sounds so elaborate).

So, as far as art goes…I have the new work drawn…I just need to get to painting!! I do have some time coming up and First Friday is coming up soon…I better get working on it. I have already planned for two showings, so please check back to find out dates and times. I am planning on increasing the commercial side of my art by introducing new products for the Fall season at the Phoenix Farmers’ Market. I need the $$ as ASU pulled my grants due to the small realization that I already have one degree…in which I responded, “SOOOOOOOOOOOO…and I’m supposed to pay for this tuition how?”

Anything else… Phoenix Comic Con January 2008, Scott and I will be there!!!

It was raining in Phoenix & it made me questio

Sat Jul 28, 2007, 1:16 PM
I have just returned from ComicCon 2007. WOW!! Scott and I went Thursday and drove home the next day. I’m currently watching live coverage on G4…weird, it makes me feel like what I went to was last year and I’m watching this year’s con on tv. Anyways, it was bigger, brighter, more organized and more crowded. I can’t say I enjoyed standing in line for almost 2 hours to just get inside, but once in I forgot about the heat and just drank in the creative talent all around.

The fantasy illustrator section was very inspiring. Scott and I met with Jeff (Hi Jeff) and Bob, who has a booth this year. I met with some of my personal favs; Craig Elliott, Charles Vess and Daivd Mack. And, also found new favs; Danni Shinya Luo and Stephanie Roberts.

Well, its back to work. I took 9 weeks off from painting and DA. I went to Wisconsin and San Diego, Temecula, CA, and Flagstaff, AZ, for inspiration, rebirth and some much needed r&r. I feel much more focused on this next art season coming up and invite you all back to check out what is new and engaging.

Thanxx for all the love and support!!! My DA site hit 1000 this week and I really didn’t think it was possible. I don’t really overly advertise my art, so this marker was really very personal. It proves DA is about friends and community. Thanxx for the lovin’

Triple Digits... Here We Go Again

Wed May 9, 2007, 10:29 AM
Here's an example of what it is like to live in Phoenix, AZ. You spend half of the year waiting for the 100+ temperatures to go away and the other half waiting for them to return. We have been blessed, 100 temp isn't expected until this week, but still, it would be nice to go through a year at 85 degrees.

Well, very busy. Our showing at The Mighty Cup in Glendale is coming to a close on May 13th. Scott and i will be at LepreCon this weekend showing and selling art work. And, thanxx to Peri Miller, we are scheduled to show at That's A Wrap in DT Phoenix in August.

I seriously need a vacation!!!!!!!!! Well, I have to take the puppy for a walk so chat with you all later
